Andrea de Chirico is born in Rome on the 4th November of 1990. After studying classical subjects in high school, he starts a BA in Industrial Design at ISIA, a Rome based university where he starts getting into the design discipline.
In 2012, he goes to the UK in order to attend a designer maker course at Plymouth University. It is at that time that he starts enjoying a new hands-on opproach to design. Then, in 2013, he decides to go to the Netherlands in order to attend a MA in Social Design at Design Academy Eindhoven. He gets the diploma in June 2015 with a project called SUPERLOCAL, 0 miles production.
The project clearly shows where Andrea wants to stand as a designer and as a person. Always seeking for collaborations, he designs new production scenarios for daily life objects. Making things locally is the most logical and fun, while beauty is his catalyst of change. Therefore, he works as product designer, system designer, interaction designer, video maker and graphic designer. He has been recently appointed as lecturer and researcher around the theme of “design and production” by the University of Bolzano (Italy). Moreover, he has been selected for the design residency 2016 by the Design Museum in London (UK).
